Abstract (EN)

The better life index allows to compare welfare between countries based on 11 issues that the OECD defines as the basis for material living conditions and quality of life. This index aims to measure the clues of better life through 11 different criteria and to provide a roadmap to countries. One of the criteria used to measure welfare is work-life balance. Work life balance means the balance between work life and private life. In other words, work life balance is defined as the way individuals balance work and non-work life with the least conflict of roles. The current research aims to examine the OECD Better Life Index Work-Life Balance 2018 data by cluster analysis and to determine how OECD countries are classified in the context of work life balance. The results of the analysis; In 2018, in OECD countries; The average rate of employees working for 50 hours and over was 8.73% and the average time allocated to individual activities was 14.38 hours. In addition, there was a negative, moderate and significant relationship between working 50 hours or more and time allocated to individual activities (r: -0.533; p <0.05). Finally, according to the results of the cluster analysis, OECD countries are divided into 5 clusters in the context of work life balance in 2018 (F: 217,27; p: 0,00; F: 10,82; p: 0,00).
