Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationships between workload, employee motivation, quality of work life, and employee satisfaction among academic staff at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. The main purpose of the study is to provide guidance to university administrations and policy makers by determining the interactions between these four important variables and their effects on employee satisfaction. The theoretical part of the study extensively discusses concepts such as workload, employee motivation, quality of work life, and employee satisfaction, emphasizing their significance in the literature. Topics such as defining and measuring workload, determinants of employee motivation, and elements of quality of work life are thoroughly explored. Within the scope of the research methodology, a survey was conducted on academic staff working at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. Workload, employee motivation, quality of work life and employee satisfaction scales were used in the questionnaire form. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software package programs. The findings showed that the increase in workload negatively affected employee motivation and quality of work life, and this negative effect decreased employee satisfaction. In particular, heavy workload was found to decrease employees' motivation and negatively affect their quality of work life. This situation causes employees to be dissatisfied with their jobs and thus decreases their job performance. As a result, it has been determined that workload should be balanced and that employee motivation and quality of work life can be increased with this balancing. The study aims to shed light on strategies to increase employee satisfaction by examining the relationships between workload and employee satisfaction in depth. In this context, recommendations are presented for university administrations to distribute workload in a balanced way to increase employee satisfaction and to take measures to increase employee motivation. This thesis makes an important contribution to understanding the complex relationships between workload, employee motivation, quality of work life and employee satisfaction and can serve as a reference for similar studies. The findings of the study provide valuable information that can be used to improve the quality of work life and overall satisfaction of academic staff.
