The mediating role of mobbing in the relationship between workload and turnover tendency

The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between the concepts of workload, mobbing and turnover tendency. The mediating role of mobbing in the relationship between workload and turnover tendency was tried to be determined. An application was made on bank employees operating in Ağrı, which constitutes the population of the study. Bank employees participating in the study were selected by simple random sampling method. Face-to-face survey technique was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaires were distributed to 130 bank employees, and the study was carried out with the data of 110 questionnaires that were answered and found suitable for analysis. The 110 bank employees constituting the sample of the study have sufficient sampling volume. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical package programs. The following findings were reached in the study conducted for bank employees operating in Ağrı: While the direct relationships between workload and mobbing and between mobbing and turnover tendency were found to be statistically significant, the direct relationship between workload and turnover tendency was found to be insignificant. In addition, mobbing was found to have a full mediating effect in this relationship. In the study, a model was proposed that mobbing is a mediating variable between workload and turnover tendency. In line with the findings of this study and the literature, various suggestions are presented to bank managers and researchers who want to work in the field.
