Abstract (EN)
Problems such as the limited cost of fossil fuels and global warming require optimization and savings in fossil energy consumption. The fact that only one third of the fuel heat is converted to electricity in thermal power plants shows how important the studies are carried out to increase the thermal efficiency. The irreversibility in the cycle causes the actual thermal yields to be much lower than the Carnot thermal yield. One way to increase the thermal efficiency in heat machines is to detect these irreversibilities and try to minimize them. Therefore, in this study, exergy analyzes were performed to determine the irreversibility of the cycle in the power plant of ISDEMIR Power Plants. The power plant is a Rankine cycle with intermediate steam. The thermal efficiency of the cycle was 29% and the second law efficiency was 66.7%. Ejector and condenser had the lowest second law efficiency and boiler and P1 pump had the second highest law efficiency. Except for turbine and boiler, the highest exergy loss was found in degasser.
