The expectations and problems of the students of the faculty theology /Islamic (Ağrı province sample)

Theology/Islamic Sciences Faculties are important institutions in our country where higher religious education activities are carried out and where professionals are trained in the fields of teaching and religious education. In order for the graduates of these institutions to become beneficial and productive individuals for society, it is essential that their expectations are adequately met during their education process, and the problems they face are minimized as much as possible. In this study, we aimed to contribute to the improvement of the quality of theological programs and the relationships between students and academic staff by identifying the expectations and problems of students studying at Theology/Islamic Sciences Faculties. Our study consists of two parts. In the first part, the historical development of Theology/Islamic Sciences Faculties since their establishment has been discussed; in the second part, the data obtained through the questionnaire were evaluated based on student responses in order to determine the expectations and problems of students studying in these faculties. The sample of our research consists of students from five different grade levels studying at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University – Faculty of Islamic Sciences. A questionnaire was used as the data collection tool and was administered to 280 students. The data obtained through the questionnaire were analyzed using the SPSS program.
