The criticisms of İsmail Turan in the tafsir of Vücûhu't-Te'vîl fi Esrâri't-Tenzîl towards al-Tabari

This study examines the criticisms that Ismail Turan made in his tafsir "Vücûhu't-Te'vîl fî Esrâri't-Tenzîl", which he wrote in Arabic recently, to Ibn Jariral-Tabari. In the first part of the study, which consists of two parts, information was given about the exegetes and their works. The works of both authors were introduced and information about the period they were written was given. Then, the formation of the culture of criticism and the criticisms directed by the exegetes to each other were mentioned. In the second part, criticisms of İsmail Turan towards al-Tabari included. İsmail Turan criticizes al-Tabari at many points in his tafsir. These criticisms of İsmail Turan were first examined by examining al-Tabari's way of handling the subject and the point criticized by İsmail Turan by using other sources. While examining the criticisms, the criticism words used by İsmail Turan and the accuracyof his criticisms was also included.
