Factors affecting the work-related quality of life of occupational doctors; İstanbul provincial case

In this thesis, it is aimed to determine some Occupational socio-demographic characteristics and (WRQOL) Work-Related Quality of Life levels of Occupational Physicians serving in Istanbul under 6 sub-titles and to develop remedial suggestions for negative factors. 252 of them formed the research group. The data of the research were collected between November and December 2022 by electronic survey method. The data obtained as a result of the research were transferred to the computer environment and arranged with the Microsoft Excel package program, and then analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 26 package program and. If we examine the data of the respondents; Slightly more than half of 57.8% men and 42.1% women are male occupational physicians. When the results are interpreted, we can say that most of the workplace physicians are over 37 years old. Considering that a physician has completed a 6-year medical specialization between the ages of 24-25 on average, it can be interpreted as ±3-4 years as they started to prefer during the compulsory duty period. 22.1% of the participants in our study are general practitioners and 77.9% are physicians who have specialized in any branch of medicine. In this descriptive study, the average service years of the participating workplace physicians was found to be 13.47±7.68. Considering the daily working hours of the workplace physicians participating in the research, the mean of Standard Deviation is 6.11±2.24 and the mean of hours is 6 (1-10). 56.3% of workplace physicians receive a salary of 16500 TL and above, 38.5% of them 5500-16500 TL, the remaining small portion of military wages or less. Occupational physicians participating in the research mostly attributed to 'Psychosocial factors' with 78.7%, secondly to Ergonomic deficiencies with 62.7%, thirdly to 'Hot-Cold' imbalances, 16.2% to noise in the Working Environment, and then to 48.2%. He also stated that they were exposed to the Dust Factor with 16.6% and finally Vibration. A statistically significant relationship was found between the descriptive variables used in the study and the values of the results of the quality of work life. The biggest limitation of the research is that it consists of Workplace Physicians serving in Istanbul and the level of participation is low.
