The completion system from the occupation of İzmir to the end of the battle of Sakarya

There have been written myriad works on the Turkish War of Independence so far. However, all of these works analyzed in general terms the strategic, political and tactical perspectives of the incidents, whereas the military completion system was studied only by few. This study, dealing with a most important period of the war, the political and military conditions in every phase of the struggle touched first, and then the system of completion in the West Frontier is taken basis. Besides these, it is tried to be explained how it was exerted there, what type of role it played in effecting the cause of the war, in what condition was the nation?s capabilities and capacity, how the war was supported and how their land was restored from the hands of the enemy.Our study is named as ?The Completion System from the Occupation of Izmir to the end of the Battle of Sakarya? composes of an introduction, six chapters and an epilogue. In the first part, the condition of Anatolia is handled. In the first chapter, Turkish Revolutionaries in the West Frontier and the systematical military was told, and a general introduction to the system of completion was made. The second chapter deals with the service of provision for the West Frontier by the General Management of Dispatch and Transportation and by the Ministry of National Security. In the third chapter, the Orders of National Charges are told. In the fourth, the arms and arsenal escaped from Istanbul to the west frontier is handled. In the fifth chapter, the arms and artillery brought to the West Frontier from the East Frontier, al-Jazeera and from the 13th corps are mentioned. And in the last chapter, the monetary supply, the artillery and the war equipments taken from Soviet Russia is dealt with. And the help of the Indian Muslims is told. After all, with the epilogue, bibliography and appendix the study is completed. If we could provide even such a little to the National War of Independence encompassing the most crucial part of our history, we consider ourselves glad and rejoiced.Key words: Turkish Republic, West Frontier, National War of Independence, Completion system.
