Abstract (EN)
In Ottoman Empire, charitable waqfs are products of a rich and rooted culture giving services in every field. Its contribution to consisting and developing of cities is undeniable. Turk-Islamic cities have a sanctuary-centered setting and the establishment of a number of different types of waqf works contributes positively to the development of the city. However, the waqf works in city history research has a vital importance. The main element of this study is Waqf works in Izmit district. Basically in this study, Waqfs and Waqfs works Izmit between 1750-1850 years were identified. Seventy three Waqfs were identified as the result of the study. There are many mosque waqfs within these waqfs. In addition, there are small mosque, school, madrasa, water fountain, lodge, convent waqfs. 68 works have been identified as waqfs works. The majority of these works are mosques and small mosque. Apart from these, a large number of lodge, convent, school, madrasa, public bath, water fountain, bridge were uncovered.
