Abstract (EN)

French sociologist and philosopher Jean Baudrillard is known for his Simulation Theory; attracted attention with his contradictory thoughts. While providing new perspectives with its theory and concepts, it also brought a new breath to the fundamentally known concepts. Baudrillard says that the concept of the real changes over time and states that we live in a hyperreal universe. It is an undeniable fact that the concept of space also changes in a hyperreal universe where the perception of reality changes. Since there is no study focusing on the reality of space, which is the smallest building block of the field of architecture; defining the reality of space, revealing the changes and transformations experienced in the historical process, point to an important and necessary phenomenon in architectural discussions. The aim of the research is to read and define the reality of space through Jean Baudrillard's discourses on the concept of space and the concept of reality in his printed works, and to determine the change he has experienced in the process. Research; uses the content analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. For the purpose of the study, frequency analyzes were performed using the MAXQDA program to determine the sample. Concepts were defined by content analysis over four works determined for the concepts of space and reality. In addition, by discussing the definition of the concept of space reality with Baudrillard's discourses through the buildings in the works on the concept of space; A distinction is made between the objective truth and the holistic truth over the change of reality. As a result, the reality of space; The design setup shows itself through the thoughts of the existence of the design as a whole and the purpose of its construction. According to Baudrillard, when considering the spatial reality of a building, it is necessary to interpret the design as a whole.
