Obstacles to women's carrier: Queen bee syndrome

Queen Bee Syndrome is a different type of issue for business women. This includes women supervisors' adopting male attitudes towards other women in the same company which trigger behaviors as trying to eliminate competition through gender discrimination. Queen Bee Syndrome is certain woman's ambition to become the only woman at the top position and limit other business women to be successful (Korkmaz, 2014). Queen bees not only becloud the lives of other women, but also systematically hinders talented and remarkable female candidates from reaching their work environment by sabotaging their recruitment or by suppressing their current position (McKoy, 2013). They also argue that unsuccessful women should seek the blame themselves and should make an individual effort to eliminate discrimination (Zel, 2002). Which causes a woman's struggle to be taken seriously. In conclusion, purpose of this study is to reveal career difficulties which cause women to reach top management levels.
