Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine eye-hand reaction times in female volleyball players according to age. Among the female athletes between the ages of 10-14 who played licensed in Kırşehir Volleyball Academy Club, one of the infrastructure teams of the Turkish Volleyball Federation, in the province of Kırşehir in the 2022-2023 season, who voluntarily approved to participate in the study, their mean age was 11.95±1.33, body weight. 59 female volleyball players with an average weight of 46.69±10.35 and an average height of 1.56±0.09 were included. Sera brand height measuring device to measure the height of volleyball players; Tanita BC-418 Segmental device was used to measure body weights. In addition, the Light Trainer Exercise system Pro Set was used to determine the eye-hand reaction times of volleyball players. SPSS 22.0 analysis program was used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. Since the data obtained did not show normal distribution and homogeneity of variance, nonparametric tests were used. The Kruskal Wallis H test was used in comparisons according to the age variable; Post-Hoc multiple comparison analyzes were used to determine the groups with significant differences as a result of the Kruskal Wallis H test. The relationship between groups was tested with Spearman Correlation analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that there was a significant relationship between height and body weight of female volleyball players according to the age variable. According to the age variable, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the two-handed, dominant hand and non-dominant hand variables in terms of visual reaction times. In addition, although age does not have a direct effect on visual response times, it has been determined that coordination between hands in terms of visual response improves with age.
