Graphic design applications and approaches in cafe spaces

Graphic design is about conveying an idea, a message, and then putting the design into practice through visualization. Basically, graphic design allows messages to be transmitted more effectively while contributing to the aesthetic aspect of the environment in which it is located. The combination of interior design and graphic design plays an important role in making spaces more memorable and impressive. For this reason, the use of graphic design in interior design contributes to achieving a more efficient and successful space organization by increasing the contact between the space and the user. The current study aims to explore the fiction of graphic design elements in interior space, the effects they create and their effect on users' spatial preferences. The scope of this study constitutes cafe spaces which are one of the areas where graphic design is applied most intensely one of the most frequent interior spaces used by users. In the first stage of the study, headings within the scope of the subject were determined and a literature review related to the subject was carried out. In the second stage, Istanbul Karaköy, where coffee shops are concentrated, was determined as the study area and a field survey was carried out. Five café spaces where graphic design was used were included in the study. In the third stage, a questionnaire, which is a quantitative research method, was conducted to question the importance and effects of graphic design between the user and the space. In the last stage of the study, analyzes were carried out on the spaces determined according to the types of application of the graphic, the surfaces applied and their functions in space. As a result of the study, it was concluded that graphic design has significant effects on the interior, both in terms of design and functionality.
