Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, the fluorites observed in the region between Hamit, Karakütük, Bayındır and Yeniyapan villages in Kaman district of Kırşehir province were investigated mineralogically, petrographically and gemologically. In this study, it is aimed to identify the fluorites which have properties of gemstones, to determine the formation mechanisms and side rock relations and to determine the gemological evaluability. Fluorites in the study area, observed as veins reaching a few centimeters to two meters and in purple, green, pink, yellow and white colors in faults connected to the altered levels in Upper Cretaceous aged, the Central Anatolian Granitoids containing gray-pink colored K-feldspar, plagioclase, quartz, amphibole and mafic minerals like biotite. In petrographic studies, fluorites were observed as colorless or purplish in plane polarized light and dark in crossed polarized light. It was determined that the side rock is quartz syenite. According to studies of gemstone cuuting, it was also thought that the fluorites in the study area could be considered as the gemstone.
