Abstract (EN)
This thesis examines the transformative effects of rapidly advancing robotic technology and its increasingly widespread use in public safety, focusing on its impact on security policies. The study details the specific roles robots play in public safety processes and the effects these roles have on public safety strategies and policies. Utilizing primary data based on law enforcement personnel opinions, supported by a literature review providing secondary data, the thesis analyzes both the current and potential impacts of robotic technology. The main objective is to assess the influence of robotic technology on public safety policies and to project the alternative roles this technology could assume in ensuring public safety. Additionally, these projections aim to propose recommendations for developing future public safety policies. The study seeks to understand the implications of robotic technology on public safety policies and to provide systematic insights that can guide future policymakers. Given the significant gaps in existing literature on this topic, this thesis fills this void, potentially enhancing the formulation of more effective public safety policies. In this context, the work serves as a critical resource for understanding the role of robotic technology in developing public safety policies.
