Determining the factors preventing the participation of female public workers in recreational activities

Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the teacher self-efficacy and instructional leadership of physical education and sports teachers working in public and private schools in Diyarbakır in the 2022-2023 academic year. A total of 350 people, including 90 teachers, 50 police officers, 68 academicians, 62 youth sports coaches and sports education specialists, and 80 health personnel working in the public sector in Bingöl province in 2022-2023, were selected by convenience sampling method. People who will participate in the research were selected on a voluntary basis. Socio-demographic information of the individuals participating in the research and the "Leisure Barriers Scale" were used as data collection tools. The data obtained was analyzed through the statistical package program SPSS.22 and the results were interpreted. Descriptive statistics including arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage distributions were used to obtain an idea about demographic information and other groups of questions. In the first place, Skewness and Kurtosis tests were used to determine the relationship between the sub-dimensions of the scale of barriers to participation in recreational activities and some demographic variables. In the analysis of the data that met the normality conditions according to the test results, the Independent Sample T test was applied to compare independent pair groups, and Mann Whitney-U tests were applied to the data that did not meet the normality conditions. In the analysis of data that met the normality conditions in multiple comparisons, Anova and Kruskal Wallis tests were applied to the data that did not meet the normality conditions. As a result of the research, no statistically significant difference was found between the general score of the participants' barriers to participation in recreational activities according to their age, marital status, number of children, spouse employment status, income level, education level and institution variables. A significant difference was detected in the lack of knowledge sub-dimensions of age, number of children, and institution of employment. In conclusion; When looking at the average of the factors that prevent participation in recreational activities, it can be said that the number of children, the institution they work for, age and marital status affect it.
