Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the attitudes of international students toward social studies. Identifying the attitudes of students from diverse cultural backgrounds toward this course is particularly important for supporting students' educational processes and improving teaching methods. Therefore, this study aimed to reveal the attitudes of international students toward social studies and to determine whether these attitudes differed across gender and grade levels. The study employed a descriptive survey model, a quantitative research method. The study group consisted of international students from various grade levels. Data were collected using a scale to determine students' attitudes toward social studies. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical analyses, and the findings are presented in tables. According to the research findings, it was determined that international students' attitudes toward social studies were generally positive. Analyses conducted by gender revealed no significant differences in student attitudes. This suggests that gender is not an influencing factor in perceptions and attitudes toward social studies. Furthermore, analyses conducted by grade level revealed no significant differences in student attitudes. This finding suggests that students' attitudes toward social studies did not change significantly as they progressed through the grades. It was determined that international students developed positive attitudes toward social studies, but these attitudes did not differ significantly by gender or grade level. This result suggests that individual and demographic differences among students are not significantly influential in social studies instruction. It is believed that the research findings will contribute to improving social studies instructional processes, increasing international students' educational success, and achieving course objectives.
