Investigation of the sea snail (Rapana venosa) population in Black Sea

Abstract (EN)

Importance of Sea snail stock for the Black Sea fisheries has been increasing because of the reduction Black Sea Fish stocks. Due to maintain the stocks in the better conditions for the future were studied with dredge at coast of maximum 30 metres deep water of Sinop, Samsun, Ordu, Giresun and Trabzon. At last sea snail populations some population parameters such as distribution, growth, stock size were estimated. Mean length, width, height and weight were found as 62,04 mm, 46,46 mm, 33,66 mm and 47,22 g respectively. Population size was estimated as 10.623 tons. Studied sea snails female: male ratio was 1,00:3,15.
