Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT SYNTHESIS OF BIARYL WITH SUZUKI CROSSCOUPLING REACTION BY CARBOXYMETHYLCHITOSAN PALLADIUM CATALYST The designs of natural polymer based catalysts are important for catalytic systems in the view of industrial purposes and green chemistry. In this study, catalytic behavior of the air and moisture stable chitosan-Schiff base imine Pd(II) catalyst was investigated in the Suzuki coupling reactions of aryl iodide with phenyl boronic acid. Effectiveness of the catalyst was also explored under benign conditions. Microwave irradiation (MW) and traditional heating system in Suzuki cross coupling reaction of green catalyst which gave excellent biphenyl yields, TONs and TOFs with very low catalyst loading were compared. The study showed that chitosan imine Pd(II) catalyst more advantages than other catalyst due to its economic, sustainable, thermal durable, environmentally friendly and practice properties.
