Bibliometric analysis of studies on carbon accounting: Web of science application

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to reveal the development and trend of the articles on "Carbon Accounting", which plays an active role in the management of the climate crisis, between 2002-2022, in terms of various parameters, through Web of Science, an academic database consisting of prestigious publications. For this purpose, the bibliometric analysis of the articles on Carbon Accounting in the Web of Science database was carried out with the Visual Mapping Method using the VOSviewer 1.6.19 package program. A total of 6,440 articles were found between 2002-2022 in the search using the keyword "Carbon Accounting" in the database. Countries, institutions, documents, sources and authors with bibliometric matching within the framework of bibliometric analysis; countries, institutions, documents, sources, authors according to citation analysis; authors, countries, institutions in co-authorship analysis; authors cited in co-citation analysis, cited references, cited sources; author keywords in collocation analysis; Finally, the keywords used in the abstracts of the publications were analyzed. In the analyzes made, it has been seen that the interest in the subject of Carbon Accounting is increasing day by day and the knowledge accumulated until this time has reached great dimensions. It was observed that the number of articles on the subject was low in 2002 (32 articles) and reached the highest level (994 articles) in 2022. The country that published the most articles was the USA, the language was English, and the journal was Journal of Cleaner Production. It has been determined that the most cited journal among the journals is Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics. The most cited author is Yepu Li and the co-author is Dabu Guan, and a detailed analysis of many connection points regarding the bibliometric analysis of the subject has been made.
