Abstract (EN)
Climate change has impacted every aspect of life, including the forestry sector. International agreements on climate bring binding obligations. These binding obligations have also revealed the importance of carbon accounting. The aim of this study is to determine the amount of biomass and the amount of carbon storage stored above the soil for binary mixed stands (Çk+Kn) formed by Black Pine and Beech tree species, which are our main tree species covering approximately 26,5% of our country's forest areas. For this purpose, necessary measurements were made on 70 sample areas and 132 sample trees from mixed black pine + beech stands. In the measurements, it was determined that the tree density of the stands was 200-8150 trees/ha, the stand middle diameter was 1.4-38,1 cm, the stand age was 12-160 years and the wood volume was 9,7-1.419,2 m3/ha. For each sample tree, the biomass and carbon of the stem, branch, needle/leaf, and bark, as well as the total tree biomass and carbon, were determined, and biomass and carbon models were developed using "Artificial Neural Networks". In ANN tree component biomass models, the R² values were calculated as 0.941 for the stem, 0.849 for the branch, 0.608 for the needle/leaf, 0.968 for the bark, and 0.973 for the total tree. In carbon models, the R² values were calculated as 0.921 for the stem, 0.884 for the branch, 0.763 for the needle/leaf, 0.933 for the bark, and 0.945 for the total tree. As a result biomass and carbon tables distributed in diameter levels were created. The total biomass value in 3168 trees in 70 sample areas was calculated as 16.000,71 tons/ha and the total carbon value was calculated as 8.028,58 tons/ha.
