Abstract (EN)
The increase in quality of life, the progress of industry and technology, not only the development of new packing materials with the rapid population growth cause increase of the daily personal waste production both also the change of the composition of the waste. Nowadays, solid wastes are generally disposed by three conventianal methods. Those are the Landfilling Method, Incineration Method and Composting Method. In this study, a new method- biodrying method- was used. The most suitable duration, temperature conditions and air requirements for the domestic wastes prepared under laboratory conditions have been determined. The samples collected from Aksaray University Central Cafeteria was used in the study. The results of the drying process are analyzed in terms of moisture mass decrease and production of energy from waste. For the most efficient results from the drying process under laboratory conditions were observed at the end of 13 days, when 50 °C air was given. When the optimum conditions were applied to the waste from Aksaray University Central Cafeteria 62.7% volume and 63.33% mass decreases were obtained, as the 4680 kcal/kg calorific value was achieved for one kg of waste.
