Abstract (EN)
In this study, the damage and changes caused by the fungal pathogens causing Kav (Esca) disease on the wood anatomical structures of the grapevine species were investigated. For this purpose, preparations were prepared by taking sections in the laboratory from diseased vine wood samples brought from Manisa region. The prepared preparations were photographed by making measurements and examinations under the microscope and statistical evaluations were made. When tracheal tangent diameters and trachea radial diameters of diseased and healthy tissues were compared on the basis of annual rings, it was determined that both the mean tangential diameter of the trachea and the mean radial diameter of the trachea were significantly larger in the 1st year rings in the diseased groups than in the healthy groups. The percentages of veiled trachea and extractive parenchyma cells in V. vinifera wood were calculated and compared separately in diseased and healthy tissues. The percentages of veiled trachea in diseased tissues were found to be significantly higher than in healthy tissues. Although the width of the ray and the number of rays per unit distance (1 mm) did not show a significant difference between the diseased and healthy groups, the parenchymal cell percentages of the extractive substance showed a significant difference between both groups. The percentage of extractive parenchyma cells with extractive substance was found to be significantly higher in the diseased group than in the healthy group.
