Abstract (EN)

Energy consumption due to the developing technology and increasing world population is increasing day by day and about 30% of the energy is used for air conditioning in buildings today. Therefore, reducing the amount of consumed energy in buildings is an important case in terms of energy efficiency, and there are many studies in the literature that examine different parameters (change in building architectures, use of various construction agents, increasing of energy equipment efficiency, change of energy systems, etc.). In this study, the effect of the using of renewable energy source is examined on the energy economy of a commonly used building that has indoor area of 10 000 m2 in Kayseri province . Calculation of thermal loads, determination of air conditioning systems, system cost analysis and energy consumption of prepared building as a prototype were examined. In this study, where the underground water based heat pump is used as the source of renewable energy, a commonly used air conditioning system (natural gas in heating system and air source cooling group in cooling system) was designed to examine of the system efficiency. The underground water based heat pump is used for both heating and cooling purposes. The initial investment cost and operation costs (maintenance-service cost, labour cost and energy consumption cost) of each designed system were examined and were compared with each other. The initial investment cost of the commonly used air conditioning system was 727.442,00 ₺ and the annual operating cost was 151.263.00 ₺. These costs were 17.1% and 35.8% higher than the underground water based heat pump air conditioning system, respectively. In this study, it has been determined that the use of underground water based heat pump, which is known as a more independent due to the use of national resources and cleaner energy source, is also a more economical air conditioning system.
