Abstract (EN)

First census described as modern in Ottoman Empire has been carried out between 1830 and 1831, and censuses have also continued in next years. The population registries, which were occured as a product of these censuses, has a great importance in history researches. Although the purpose of these censuses, where only men are counted, is to determine the population that will meet the military and tax needs of the state, the data it contains allows to make general inferences about the demographic, economic and sociological structure of the relevant period. In this context, the number, name, nickname, A lot of information can be obtained such as his description, kinship relationship, military and financial liability status, date of birth, age, place of registration and administrative status. Today, there are few thesis studies based on population registers belonging to the region we examined. For this reason, it is clear that this study, which was prepared based on the population book numbered 767, will contribute to the history studies of the region. In the study, subjects such as the total population of Keçenos, the distribution of the population according to age, physical characteristics, the social status of the individuals, the analysis of the names they used were handled.
