Creation theories of the kalam

Kalām theologians have been interested in the field of akāıd since the first century A.H., and they have made efforts to understand the universe and its elements. Besides addressing inquiries about cosmology from other religious groups, they put forward original ideas within their own body. The discussion that resulted in intense ideas underlines the richness of the science of Kalam once again. In the study of cosmology, the first issue that comes to mind is "creation." In terms of understanding both the supreme creator and the cosmos, the notion of creation is crucial. Several viewpoints have been expressed on the characteristics and nature of creation, which is crucial to comprehending the relationship between Allah and the universe. The purpose of this study is to explore the opinions of the mutakallimūn who are opposed to creation, as well as the debates in this field. The etymological examination of the word creation was done in the introduction chapter. In addition, the meanings attributed to the word creation by the mutakallimūn were examined. In the body part, the subjects of latency-emergence, leaping, tajaddud al-amthal, and causation are investigated. The latency-emergence is about the first creation of the universe, whereas leaping and causation is related to the creation of the movement of the being. Each of them is an opposing viewpoint to the mainstream consensus and has created an atmosphere conducive to in-depth debate. Tajaddud al-amthal, on the other hand, includes some thoughts about the continuity of creation. When these four creation theories are thoroughly explored, it becomes clear that there is only one creator, who created the universe from nothing and intervenes in it at all times. Furthermore, the arguments discussed are in response to the current trends of determinism, deism, and atheism that occupy today's agenda.
