Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY The topic of this study is developing a mathematical model about determining the size of open green space that require for each person by using the physical environmental properties and the social and economical of the society. By this way it is brought an answer to a problem about what must be the size of an open green space for each person in cities or settings having different social and economical structure. Trabzon is chosen as a sample study area for application of the developed mathematical model. In this study the minimum amount of open green space (district park) that required for each person has been calculated. By this model related with the variation of open green space usage of society in time and the factors that effect the usage in the city have obtained. And also it is recommended some suggestions about a district park must contain what activities and equipment, the amount of its usage capacity and some design criterias are suggested. In the first chapter, the reasons of the preference of the study subject and the aim of the study is stated and related previous studies are given. Then the development of open green space standarts in Turkey is discussed. In the second chapter, the method used in the study is defined. The variables about the developed mathematical model are given with the reason of the preference of sample area and the usage of the data obtained from application study. In the third chapter, the data obtained according to the suggested model are tested and the results are given. In the fourth chapter, the results of above are evaluated. In the fifth and last chapter, the general results about the usage of mathematical model are given and proposals are stated. Key Words: Open Green Spaces, Mathematical Model, Recreation, District Parks.
