Investigation of the effect of naturality perceived in urban greenspaces on socialization

Urban green spaces have been affecting our lives in a positive way, climatically, economically and socially, from past to present. Proximity to urban green spaces allows people to spend more time outside and, as a result, be more socially active. Socialization of individuals also makes an important contribution to the improvement of the quality of life. There are a number of features that are effective in choosing green areas as socializing places, among which the concept of naturalness positively affects our preference in many ways. In the literature review that constitutes the content of the research, firstly the concept of urban green areas, the reasons for the preference of these areas and the criteria of naturalness in this context were discussed, then socialization was emphasized and the effect of naturalness on the socialization process was discussed. In the research model that constitutes the research content, it is aimed to evaluate the contribution of the concept of naturalness in urban green areas to socialization. The quantitative research method was used in the study, which consisted of two stages. In the first stage, the study area was determined as Trabzon Botanic Park and behavior observation was made in this area. Then, the questionnaire technique and the Likert attitude scale, the socialization concept of naturalness. Its effect on it has been evaluated. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that the concept of naturalness has a positive effect on the socialization and social behavior of individuals. In this way, it has been revealed that there is a significant relationship between the concept of socialization in urban green spaces and naturalness.
