Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to identify misconceptions in chemistry topics with the technique of Diagnostic Branched Three (DBT), which is an alternative to classic measurement and assessment tools. The DBT stands out over common measurement and assessment tools by its different structure and purpose. The research was executed with a survey method. The research was carried out on 222 pre-service teachers attending the Department of Elementary and Science Education of Education Faculty of Dumlupinar University. Descriptive statistical methods were used in the analysis of the data obtained in the research. In the research, with the technique of DBT, a reliable and valid Chemistry Conceptual Test, consisting of 22 items, was developed. In addition, it was determined that pre-service teachers had alternative conceptions about the chemistry topics of matter and its properties, elements, compounds, solutions and colligative properties, metals, physical and chemical changes, acids and bases, chemical bonds, and heat and temperature.
