Abstract (EN)
The application scopes of structural engineering rise timewise. The increase of construction related opportunities and ease of accessibility give rise to diversity in constructions. As a result of the constructional diversity, existing calculation methods are subject to change and the pursuit of new calculation methods emerge. The undergraduate “reinforced concrete” courses focus on the calculation of buildings which has now become ordinary. Beside these, by TS 500 and “Earthquake Legislation” the static design of these constructions has been specified to the finest detail. Additionally, most computer aided calculation applications are used for only buildings type of constructions. It is implausible to carry out the calculation of unconventional constructions via these applications. Although the solutions can be done visually, the results may be misleading due to database incompatibility. Even if there are foreign software programs, the procurement cost of these programs is quite high. It is not affordable to provide these software programs for a few constructions or even only for one. Consequently, it is the best choice to carry out the analysis of constructions and their section calculations by conventional methods. In this study, firstly the load analysis was carried out as in other construction types. For moving loads and the wind load, the information which is pre-specified in TS 498 was used. Afterward, the reinforced concrete section calculations were accomplished. The elements of reinforced concrete are slabs, columns, and foundations. The earthquake calculation was implemented according to the 2018 Turkey Building Earthquake Regulations. Even though this construction differs from buildings type of constructions, the lower limits in TS 500 were taken as basis. The safety parameters which are ordinarily used for buildings, were utilized for this construction as well. In general, the construction was regarded equivalent to the residential buildings in the legislation. The steel calculation was carried out within the frame of this information. After the steel calculations were completed, the detailed drawings of these steels were accomplished according to the guidelines in TSE 500 and 2018 Turkey Earthquake Building Regulations.
