Abstract (EN)

In this thesis titled Sindike Region in the Classical and Hellenistic Periods, the three important port cities of Phanagoria, Kepoi and Hermonassa, which were located on the Taman Peninsula in Antiquity, were examined. The geographical locations, toponyms, and their roles in economic, cultural and political developments of these port cities in Antiquity were revealed. The commercial relations of these port cities with other cities were investigated. For this, first of all, the toponyms, geographical locations and excavations of the cities were examined. Then, the colonial activities of the Hellenes in the Black Sea and the Sindike Region were discussed. Then, the political history of the Sindike Region during the Colonization, Bosphorus Kingdom and Mithradates Kingdom periods was examined. As a result, it was seen that the port cities of Phanagoria, Kepoi and Hermonassa, which were determined to have an important place in the Classical and Hellenistic periods, played an important role in the regional trade and political developments. It was seen that the Bosphorus Kingdom and Mithradates Kingdom, which dominated these regions, made great gains against their enemies politically and economically.
