Abstract (EN)

With the rapid increase in the use cases of IoT devices, the deployment, communication, and network optimization of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have become crucial. Sensors used in 6TiSCH networks are characterized by nodes with limited energy and transmission range. To ensure stable and efficient operation of these networks in various applications, routing operations are performed using the RPL protocol within the IETF 6TiSCH framework. In environments with multiple IoT networks, nodes must select a suitable root node and join it without knowing their neighbors or the node density in the network. New nodes wishing to join neighboring networks can decrease the efficiency and increase energy consumption by randomly joining a network without knowing the node density. In this context, a solution approach aims to enable nodes to join the network in a balanced and dynamic manner using an algorithm developed with the RPL infrastructure, thus optimizing network performance. With a centrally programmed controller, the goal is for nodes wishing to connect to neighboring 6TiSCH networks to join the network with fewer nodes, allowing networks to operate on different channels and synchronized nodes in the network to operate on the relevant channels. After testing, the goal was to enhance node management and balance in neighboring 6TiSCH networks by enabling nodes to join less dense networks, leading to significant improvements in performance metrics, especially in message transmission rates.
