Abstract (EN)
In this study, the applications of conical "turbulator" inserts for (90/70) smoke tube boilers are studied. In all of these applications, improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption are continuing goals. This thesis describes experiments conducted at the Karadeniz Technical university, Heat Transfer Laboratory, to determine the first law and the second law efficiencies of an oil-fired boiler, for the cases of with and without inserts ( turbulators ) in the same operating conditions, and the results compared. The slope angles of the conical turbulators used in the experiments are chosen to be 14 "-20°. The number of the turbulators which are inserted in the tube of smoke are 200. Their installation position in smoke tube, are kept in peri odically enlarging construction, in accordance with flow direction. x
