Abstract (EN)

In present study, a new conjugated polymer containing a bitiyazol group was synthesized from the reaction of the 2,2'-diamino-4,4'-thiazole compound with terephthaldicarboxaldehyde using the condensation polymerization method. Characterization of the synthesized compounds was achieved by FTIR and 1H-NMR techniques. Thermal properties of the conjugate polymer were determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) technique. For this purpose, the conjugated polymer was heated from the room temperature to 900 °C in a nitrogen gas atmosphere at different heating rates. By increasing the heating rate from 5 °C/min to 20 °C/min, the initial decomposition temperature of the polymer also increased from 238.45 °C to 252.78 °C. The kinetics of thermal decomposition of the conjugated polymer were examined in the light of different kinetic methods. Thermal decomposition activation energy was calculated as 288.42 kJ/mol and 281.06 kJ/mol, respectively, according to Flynn-Wall-Ozawa and Kissinger methods. The potential thermal decomposition mechanism of the conjugated polymer was determined to proceed at an optimum heating rate of 20 °C/min over the D3 three-dimensional diffusion mechanism.
