Investigation of effective parameters in the selection of housing and housing environment in the context of quality of urban life,the case of gazi̇antep

The main objective of this study is to define all aspects of the quality of life; to define country-specific aspects, as well as to define measurement criteria's in measuring urban quality of life performance including subjective evaluations. Based on the metrics obtained, it is aimed to define a conceptual framework for measuring the quality of life in our urban living environments and to test it by testing it in an urban sub-region. The research has three objectives. The first is to establish a conceptual framework by defining objective and subjective variables for measuring the quality of urban life. The concepts of life quality in architectural and urbanism are examined in detail and main variables are defined. Another goal of the study is to test variables for measuring the quality of urban life on an urban sub-region. Finally, it aims to reach findings that guide the development-transformation potentials on urban space in the near future. The scope of the study is the Ibrahimli district suburban of Gaziantep where the middle and upper income level households are living. As a result of the study, it is determined whether the preferences or priorities of the residence-habitat are changed in the sampling area, and to define the change on the main components of the residence and their relatives' expectations over time. These findings are thought to contribute to the establishment of more qualified urban living spaces for the future by defining urban transformation and development areas and defining which variables has higher importance in terms of quality of life in the design process of such living areas.
