Comparative analysis of the individual and the central heating applications for the housings

In the current master's thesis, two different heating applications have paired in three different ways and those have compared. One of the applications is the individual application (BU), where each of the houses (flats) is heated with an independent combi boiler, and the other is the central application (MU), where the buildindg is heated with a single natural gas boiler. These two different applications have paired in three different ways. For the all pairings the units in the house have assumed to be 19 C in MU application. In case of BU, for pairing 1 all units is at 19 C, for the pairng 2, the hall is 20C and the other units are at 15C, for the pairing 3 the hall is at 20C and the other units are not heated. Numerical calculations have performed with an Excel-based program according to TS 825 (Turkish Standards 825). Comparison of differen applications has carried out in terms of heating energy need and fuel consumption on a sample building for different degree-day regions (DGB) in Turkey. Additionally, an analytical expression for estimating theoretical energy requirement in a single house of the building has obtained and the results of the expression have compared with the calculated results. In the pairing 1, same in the heating energy need for both applications, yet lower the fuel consumption for BU have been found. In the pairing 2 and the pairing 3, both the heating energy need and the fuel consumption have become lower for BU. However, for pairing 2, compairing heating energy need in unit volume basis, energy need of BU has become lower as for the hall volume and higher as for total volume. Similarly in the pairing 3, when the heated volume is considered for unit volume based calculation, lower heating energy need, but higher fuel consumption for BU have found. Lastly, the investment cost has obtained higher for MU.
