The assessment of purchasing decision process of the foreign tourists visiting konya for the cultural purposes

Along with other sectors, the economic and technological developments experienced in the increasing global competition environment have led to changes in the tourism sector in the consumer perception and behavior. Some reasons like development of sustainable tourism understanding and alternative tourism types superseding the understanding of traditional holidays have tended people to be in search of differences. These acts of the tourists that travel for the purposes of getting to know different cultures and discovering new places have rendered cultural tourism and cultural assets as the two effective major variables in the travel decision-making. The purpose of this study is to determine and assess the views of the foreign tourists visiting Konya for cultural purposes in terms of their purchasing decision process. With this regard, the foreign tourists visiting Konya constitute the population of this study. In the analysis of data collected through the survey, frequency-percentage distribution, mean and standard deviation values were used, and for the independent measurements ?t-test? and ?Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)? were used.According to the findings earned by the analysis of the data collected in the study, the views of the tourists in the purchase decision-making process of vary according to demographic and travel features. However, the tourists mentioned that in the purchasing decision process they have valued the phases of ?problem recognition? and ?post-purchase behaviour? more than others.Key words: Purchasing Decision Making Process, Cultural Tourism, Cultural Assets, Konya.
