Abstract (EN)
The denim manufacturing sector in recent years depending on the demand in the world and our country constantly develops and changes. Wastewater from the production of denim fabrics occurs in the production and processing of the fabric. During the processing of denim fabrics, indigo dyes and other chemicals are used to increase the strength of the product and to fix the paint to the product. Besides wastewaters with high COD and color values are formed due to the use of different chemicals during the washing process of the jeans. In this study, the treatment of denim fabric production plant wastewater by electrochemical methods has been investigated. In the first stage of the study, 16 different combinations of iron, aluminum, stainless steel, graphite electrodes are used in anode and cathode. The highest removal efficiency was obtained with the iron-stainless steel electrode material. The effects of turbidity, COD and color removal efficiency of the treated wastewater depending on the pH, conductivity, the distance between the electrodes, time, current and voltage variables were also investigated and the total treatment costs were calculated. As a result of electrochemical chemical methods, 91.25% COD removal efficiency and 94.25% color removal efficiencies were obtained with iron and steel electrodes. In the second stage of the study, the non-linear regression method was used to model the operating parameters. With SPSS program, the effects of different operating parameters of denim fabric production facility wastewater on electrochemical treatment were observed. The individual and synergetic effects of these parameters were examined and appropriate operating conditions were determined to obtain the highest efficiency. It was determined that there was a significant relationship between the second order model developed using nonlinear regression method with experimental and estimated values.
