Factors effecting farmers' choice considering intended purpose of credit usage: Sample of Aksaray

Agriculture sector's, which is extremely important due to its role at both economical development and sustainable food security, one of the most important problem is insufficient finance. With this study, it is aimed to research which factors are effecting farmers' choice considering intended purpose of credit usage who use credit in Aksaray province with the thought that contribute to sustainable agriculture, efficient usage of scarce resources and especially banks' suitable product development and policy making decisions. Data to the purpose of the study was collected in Aksaray province by using convenience sampling method through surveys from 315 farmers who used agricultural credit. Questionnaire study had been done at bank branchs which are the most important places to access participants. The data gathered thuswise on a volunteer basis analyzed with SPSS V.26 software. General characteristics of participants have been revealed with descriptive statistics. Beside multiple regression method has been used to analyze variables. According to results of the study, fees charged and deductions plus friendliness of bank personel has more effect on farmers' bank choice yet, on agricultural credit usage decision it has been seen that adequate credit limit with quick service also interest rate of loan has a high importance on farmer side. On the other hand, high credit limit and privileges have a statistically significant positive effect on usage of agricultural credit whereas having agricultural education has a statistically significant negative effect on usage of personal loans.
