Özet (EN)

The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of exercises to be applied with remote video monitoring on upper extremity functions and daily living activities in chronic hemiplegic patients. 40 patients with chronic hemiplegic were included in the study. In this study, the patients were divided into simple randomization into 2 groups and each group included 20 people. For group 1, the treatment was evaluated before and after the treatment with a remote video-monitored exercise method, including upper and lower extremity strengthening exercises, 45-60 minutes 10 repetitions three days a week. For group 2, the same exercises were done in a clinical setting in the presence of a physiotherapist. Patients who were divided into remote video-monitored exercise group (Group 1) and exercise group (Group 2) were evaluated at baseline and at 8 weeks. Sociodemographic information of the individuals were evaluated using the Socio-Demographic Form. Pulse Rate (PR) values and Oxygen saturation (SaO2) were measured using Pulse Oximetry to monitor vital signs. Modified Ashworth Scale was used for grading of upper extremity spasticity. Wolf Motor Function Test was used to evaluate upper extremity functionality. The Barthel ADL Index was used to evaluate activities of daily living (ADL). The Brunnstrom Staging Questionnaire was used to assess the level of motor recovery. The Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire was used to assess patient satisfaction with the treatment method. When the findings were examined, an increase in daily living activities and functionality parameters was observed in both groups, while a decrease in spasticity levels was observed (p<0.05). While the grip strength of the hand increased in group 2 (p<0.05). SaO2 and heart rate values were similar in both groups (p>0.05). As a result, it was observed that tele-rehabilitation increased daily living activities, upper extremity functionality and decreased spasticity levels in chronic hemiplegic patients. This study showed that Telerehabilitation can be used as an alternative treatment method to rehabilitation programs in stroke rehabilitation.
