Abstract (EN)
In the first section of the present paper, the coffee concept has been debated. Emergence of coffee, coffee house culture, its emergency and dissemination to Europe during the Ottoman Empire, have been discussed. In section two, café concept has been scrutinized and what is a café, types of cafés and what are the factors which are effective in emergence of cafés today have been discussed. In section three, concept of space in architecture and functional properties of cafés have been researched. In section four internal designs of various types of cafés located in Afyonkarahisar were examined and their sketch files and visuals have been added to that section. In section five, purpose, significance, hypotheses, scope and limitations, methodology and finding of the present research have been given. Then a survey containing 53 questions has been administered to 182 students, attending Afyon Kocatepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Internal Design Department, to investigate and determine psychological effects of café designs on humans
