Abstract (EN)

One of the areas where literary canons are produced is literary magazines. The book promotion and criticism in these journals, which are managed by certain cultural policies, is one of the tools of the culture industry in conveying certain discourses to readers. According to the Frankfurt School, the culture industry is the deception of the masses produced by various mass media due to the failure of Enlightenment. In this environment where culture is industrialized, art and literature are turned into a political-economic field and become one of the governmentality areas. Literary magazines, which normalize individuals with their culture and art content, are also a super-panopticon where people acquire ways of seeing themselves and others. One of these managerial tools is Sabitfikir Journal of Contemporary Literature. Sabitfikir is a magazine published in digital and printed literary magazines in 2011. It is first published in Doğan Media and then Turkuvaz Media. On the other hand, conservatism, which has risen globally and nationally as of 1980, is reproduced or shaken in many governmentality tools. The purpose of the research is to analyze the appearance of the basic principles of conservatism in Sabitfikir and to explain its interaction with the literary canons produced in the magazine. The question of the research is which literary canons were produced in the magazine, which was examined within the scope of conservatism principles, based on the founding name of conservatism, Edmund Burke, and Robert Nisbet and Russell Kirk, the important thinkers of this field. The method chosen to answer this question is Foucaultian Discourse Analysis. Because culture is interpreted as governmentality. In the discourses discussed under these principles, how people are subjected; the dilemma of the modern individual is analyzed under the principles of obedience to authority, devotion to religion, dedication to tradition, family loyalty, interest of capital and adherence to history. In the context of the said principles, the stages of discourse's production, change, sharpening or softening are shown, thus revealing the cultural policies of the journal and which literary canons it reproduced. Keywords: Culture Industry, Media, Literary Journal, Conservatism, Subject.
