Hospitality enterprises are the ones which produce services and in which customer-employee interaction is the fundamental determiner of the quality. Hospitality enterprises where the quality services are the source of competition can only protect their competitive structure with their workforce. This makes the human resources employed in this sector and their qualification important. One of the most important tools for keeping and improving qualifications of the employees in hospitality enterprises is on-the-job training. Accordingly, the hospitality enterprises try to improve their employees? qualifications by organizing various training programs. In this scope, one of the most applied training programs is on-the-job training. On-the-job training can be given by the executives or other experienced personnel within the enterprises as well as by the Ministry or other external providers.This study aims to determine the effect of the front office on-the-job training conducted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for tourism sector on the vocational improvement of the sector employees. According to the results of the study, it is found that there is a statistically significant difference in the knowledge levels of the trainees before and after training and it is determined that front office on-the-job training has contributed to the knowledge and skill of employees.
