Investigation of uptake of some critical raw materials with a rooted plant in poultry slaughterhouse wastewater

Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, it was aimed to determine the concentrations of some critical raw materials in Phragmites australis, a rooted plant exposed to poultry slaughterhouse wastewater in Elazığ city. For this purpose, roots, stems and leaves of Phragmites australis plant exposed to poultry slaughterhouse wastewater were separated and the concentrations of some critical raw materials (V, Sb, Co, La) were determined by ICP-MS. According to the analysis results obtained, it was determined that Phragmites australis plant exposed to poultry slaughterhouse wastewater accumulated V, Co, Sb and La, which are critical raw materials, well. When the accumulation capacities of Phragmites australis plant were calculated, it was determined that it was 23633 times for V, 108000 times for Co, 4000 times for Sb and 197000 times for La. When the accumulation capacity of Phragmites australis was examined, it was found that the highest accumulation was for La. As a result, it was determined that Phragmites australis can accumulate critical raw materials in poultry slaughterhouse wastewater and can be used in phytoremediation technology.
