Abstract (EN)

Prophet Adam, who is accepted as the first human being in the context of Abrahamic religions, has been a subject that has been emphasized and researched by many researchers, scholars, and thinkers from past to present. Each of them drew a portrait of Adam based on the information in the Holy Quran and the Bible. Just as Muslims, Christians, and Jews have researched the topic of the first human being, the ancestors of humans, researchers from other religions and beliefs have also provided explanations about the first human being based on their own Holy Scriptures and beliefs. Since the study is evaluated in the context of divine religions, the first human being, Prophet Adam, and the "language ability" given to him are compared and discussed in the light of the information in the Holy Bible and the Quran. The study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the first section, the narratives about Adam in the Bible and the accompanying interpretations are taken as the basis. The verses in the Holy Quran and their interpretations are briefly included and compared, and sometimes interpretations in other religions and beliefs are referred to. The main topics addressed include the nature of the Holy Bible, the creation of the world and the purpose of human creation, the creation of Adam and Eve, the children of Adam - Kabil, Habil, and Seth - the Garden of Eden, the story of the expulsion of Adam and his spouse from paradise, as well as the detailed examination of the "naming" situations in the books of the Torah/Pentateuch, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In the second section, verses from the Qur'an concerning Prophet Adam and the interpretations within this framework are taken as the basis. The information related to these topics in the Holy Bible is briefly mentioned for comparison. Other religions and beliefs are also partially included. The main topics addressed are as follows: Qur'anic narratives, the story of Adam, the creation of Adam, the appointment of Adam as a vicegerent on earth, the names taught to Adam and their relationship with language, the nature of the names taught to Adam, the teaching of the names (ta'līmu'l-asmā), the nature of paradise, Adam's exile to the world, the forbidden tree, and the family of Adam.
