Abstract (EN)

This study has examined the relationship between education and ideology in the global era in the context of nationhood. In the study, the fundamental reasons for the functions attributed to education through ideology in the formation of the nation in the modern period in the nation-state structure have been examined and a dialectical relationship has been established between the concepts of state, ideology, nation and education. In the Turkish dimension of the study, the Turkish nationalization process since the 18th century has been primarily examined and the connection of the process with Kemalism has been established with the establishment of the republic. In the global period, in order to reveal the changes that have occurred regarding the ideological position of education, the changes that have occurred in the capitalist system and the emphasis that globalization has placed on the universal and the local have been brought to the forefront. In this regard, the ideology of globalization, new liberalism, and its infrastructure, post - modernism, are explained, their effects on education are revealed, and in this context, the reflections of the process on Turkey are discussed.
