Abstract (EN)
In this research, we investigated the protective effects of naringenin against lead acetate induced oxidative stress on rats. MDA, enzymes (catalase, glutathione peroxidase), GSH, total lipid, vitamin A, vitamin E, total cholesterol, total glyceride, AST and ALT levels were measured. For this purpose Naringenin, lead acetate and their combinated groups were used.According to the results of the experiments, the MDA content in the groups of lead acetate increased when compared to the control group (p<0.001). By the effects of naringenin the MDA levels in the combination groups decreased when compared to the lead acetate group (p<0.05, p<0.01,p<0.001). The catalase enzyme activites of muscle and plasma of lead acetate groups decreased when compared to the control group (p<0.001). In the liver and muscle tissues the GSH levels of lead acetate group decreased when compared to the control group (p<0.001, p<0.05). By the effects of naringenin the GSH-Px enzyme activities of combination group of all tissues increased when compared to the lead acetate group (p<0.001). In the plasma the GSH-Px activites levels of control group observed highest value when compared to the lead acetate group (p<0.001). In additional, the AST levels of lead acetate groups increased when compared to the control groups (p<0.05).In conclusion; it was observed that the protective effect of administrated naringenin on the some biochemical parameters of brain, muscle, liver tissues and plasma induced lead acetate.
