Comparison of corporate social responsibility in perception and value

Academic researches on corporate social responsibility (CSR) mostly rely on the perceptions and policies of companies. Comprehensive studies, that include the perceptions of the actors in the companies about the issue are very few though out the world and in Turkey. This study was conducted with an aim of filling this gap in the literature to analyze how companies perceive corporate social responsibility concept in perception and value context in order to make up for it. Its main goals are to introduce exploratory information concerning the issue, companies by relying upon this information and to constitute groundwork for the further CSR research. This study is basically composed of two sections as theory and fieldwork. In theory section, the concept of responsibility, corporate social responsibility and finally samples of global world and Turkey has been dwelled upon. In the fieldwork section, Trabzon in the year of 2014, a survey was conducted on the employees of the first 100 taxpayers and the analysis was obtained. Various analyzes were carried out with SPSS on the obtained data. As a result, it has been reached that the employees of the 83 Corporation Tax Recurrent Enterprises of the year 2014 in the province of Trabzon, which constitutes the scope of the research, perceive the CSR of the Trabzon province parallel to the value and the perception of the employees. Differences and similarities were revealed by comparing the CSR Pyramid formed by the research results with Carroll's CSR Pyramid.
