Abstract (EN)
In this study, effects of backing type and backing fixing types to mechanical performance of the box type furnitures produced with MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and particleboard, has been investigated. For this purpose, 84 samples were prepared repeating 3 times including 2 material types, 3 backing joint types (plain, lamped, rabbetting), 2 backing types (3 mm MDF, 3 mm plywood), 2 backing fixing types (nailed, stapled, pneumatic nailed, plastic connection material). According to realized diagonal compression experiment results, the maximum strength was found in MDF, rabbetting, 3 mm plywood, plastic connection material combination and the minimum strength was found in particleboard, lamped, 3 mm MDF, pneumatic nailed combination. For the results of the study, were more appropriate to use the MDF as a material type, the rabbetting as a joint type, the 3 mm plywood as a backing type and the plastic connection material as a backing fixing type.
