Abstract (EN)
Factors like rapid increase in population and increase in rural to urban migration because of living difficulties, also brings residence issues along with it. Thus, crooked urbanization and slums came into the open. 'Urban transformation' is adopted to come up with a solution to this problem. According to this, it is claimed that collective settlement areas which is appropriate for low income holders are built so that many people's residence issues will able to be eliminated in short term. In this exercise, one of the collective settlement projects "Kuzey Ankara Entrance Urban Transformation Project (Protocol Road)" s urban transformation was examined in terms of urban ecology. The main purpose of this study; is to determine whether the studies carried out under the name of today's urban transformation show compliance with the principles of ecological urban planning and ecological urban design. Within the scope of the study, the relationships between the buildings within the boundaries of the study area, light-green areas, access to the site and the ecological compatibility of the site were analyzed. Suggestions were made in line with urban ecology for the urban transformation project implemented in the study area.
